The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions for the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency reported it's alarmed with regard to the high number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a higher quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The services stage produced for intervention ordeals a higher inflow of potential beneficiaries, that makes sassa status it tricky for that office to attend to all people who go to a service sassa status check point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to help the servicing of all buyers and boost access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
